About the Artist....

Gourd Art is relatively new to Nancy, although she has been an artist all her life. Throughout the 1980s Nancy owned and operated an arts and crafts store in Meade, Kansas, where she still resides. During those years she sponsored many painting classes... bringing artists in and eventually teaching some classes herself. This is where she learned to paint landscapes and still life in oils and acrylics. She has recently been studying watercolor and, in particular, watercolor portraiture. 

Nancy's intrigue with Gourd Art happened when she first laid eyes on one in a shop last year. She finds this medium a unique way for her to combine her carpenter skills with her love of painting. She uses pyrography (wood burning) along with paint and unusual applied items. Contact Nancy by email.
